NIGHT SKY TOURIST
​(1ST MAY & 12TH JUNE 2021)

Josh was recently selected for interview on Vicky Derksen's Podcast - "Night-Sky Tourist". An amazing podcast that expresses voices from around the world in light of night-sky conservation. 

​Josh was selected twice to be interviewed - in May 2021 to discuss his night-sky conservation work and June 2021 talking about the significance of the summer solstice from Stonehenge.

BBC RADIO SOMERSET
 (9TH MARCH 2021)

In Josh's latest interview with Claire Carter on BBC Radio Somerset, he discusses the recent meteorite, which was discovered on the 28th February and observed over the skies of Somerset.

He discusses where fragments of the meteorite were found in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, which composes of 
carbonaceous chondrite; a mixture of minerals and organic compounds.

Josh explains why meteorites like this one are so important in understanding the early formation of the Solar System.

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Wiltshire Presenter, Sue Kinnear to discuss the importance of looking up to the night-sky for 'The Happiness Project'.

He discusses why it is so important to be looking up to the night-sky during lockdown and what he does as a night-sky conservationist to raise public awareness of the impacts of light pollution to the natural world - discussing implications to astronomical research, nocturnal wildlife and human healtH..

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Somerset Presenter, Charlie Taylor to discuss his new and upcoming virtual astronomy workshops with his astronomy organisation, Space4All.

​He also discusses he recent astrophotography and what can be observed in the night-sky during January.

 (14TH DECEMBER 2021)

Josh is interviewed by BBC World Service Presenter, Valerie Sanderson to discuss the Total Solar Eclipse from Chile on 14th December.

​He describes the current situation of not being able to document the eclipse in light of the current pandemic and to highlight how the recent months have been a significant reminder of connecting with others when looking to the stars.

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Somerset Presenter, Claire Carter to discuss the Total Solar Eclipse from Chile on 14th December and The Great Conjunction between the planets, Jupiter and Saturn.

​He describes how he intends to document the Eclipse virtually with his friends in Chile and when the best time is to observe the great conjunction - an event, which has not happened since the time of Galileo; 400-years ago.

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Somerset Presenter, Claire Carter to discuss the opposition of Mars and what to observe on the surface of The Red Planet.

​He describes how to identify the red dust surface, the dust lanes, the polar ice caps and largest (extinct) volcano in the Solar System using your unaided eye to binoculars and using a telescope!

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Somerset's Claire Carter - to discuss his new role as a Delegate of the International Dark Skies Association to represent Bristol and South-West England.

He discusses how this delegateship has placed him on a global platform to promote night-sky conservation and what he intends to do to raise public awareness of the issue in the UK's Climate Capital - The city of Bristol.

 (21ST JULY 2020)

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Somerset's Claire Carter - to discuss Comet Neowise and its 6,000 year journey across the Solar System. He discusses his recent captures of the comet over Somerset and surrounds and how to locate it before the comet gradually disappears from the night-sky.

​At the time of broadcast, the comet is gradually reducing in magnification and will become less prominent in the night-sky as it moves further away from the Sun and begins its long journey once again into the vastness of space.

​He also discusses his recent work in Night-Sky Conservation and how both Light Pollution and Mega-Satellite Constellations are not only impacting our view of the night-sky but the natural world in light of the climate crisis.

Josh is interviewed by BBC Radio Bristol's Steve Yabsley - in discussion about how his early passion for astronomy began and how this led to pursuing a career in Photography, Film and Television.

Steve highlights the importance of looking at the night-sky during the lockdown and Josh's work in Night-Sky Conservation. Focusing on the implications that both Light Pollution and Mega-Satellite Constellations are having to the natural world in light of the climate crisis - broadcast from the UK's Climate Capital.
